Iran has restarted some of its drone production
Iran has restarted some of its drone production during a six-week ceasefire that began in early April, CNN reported on Thursday, citing two sources familiar with US intelligence assessments.
"US intelligence indicates the Iranian military is rebuilding much faster than previously thought," the report added, citing four sources.
The rebuilding of Iran's military capabilities reportedly means the country "remains a significant threat to regional allies if President Trump restarts the bombing campaign," according to four sources familiar with the intelligence, reported Al Arabiya (22/5).
One source, a US official, told CNN that some US intelligence estimates indicate Iran could fully rebuild its drone attack capabilities in as little as six months.
According to the report, several factors contributed to Iran's ability to rebuild faster than expected, including the support it received from Russia and China.
"For example, China continues to provide components to Iran during the conflict that could be used to build missiles," CNN reported, adding "although it has likely been curtailed by the ongoing US blockade."
Earlier, President Donald Trump on Wednesday said the United States was ready to resume further attacks on Tehran if Iran did not agree to a peace deal, but suggested Washington could wait a few days to "get the right answer."
