Xiaomi YU7 GT High Performance Officially Launched, Starting Price IDR 1 Billion
JAKARTA - Xiaomi officially introduced the YU7 GT as their latest high-performance SUV variant. This car is marketed at a price starting at 389,900 yuan or around Rp1 billion.
Launching from Carnewschina, Friday, May 22, consumers can also choose an additional "GT Sports Kit" package priced at 34,000 yuan, but for the promotional period it is available at a price of 14,000 yuan. Meanwhile, the most complete version of the "Big Full Pack" is sold for 429,900 yuan.
The name "GT" itself comes from the Italian term Gran Turismo or long journey, which confirms the position of this vehicle as a high-performance SUV for long-distance use. The car is equipped with Xiaomi's V8s EVO electric motors that can spin up to 28,000 rpm.
The motor uses a silicon carbide (SiC) power module developed internally by the company, which is claimed to increase power output by 5.9 percent. Its efficiency also reaches 98.38 percent thanks to the use of an ultra-thin 0.15 mm silicon steel sheet on the stator and rotor.
The YU7 GT is capable of producing a peak power of up to 738 kW or the equivalent of 990 hp. This performance allows this SUV to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 2.92 seconds with a maximum speed of 300 km/h.
The car carries a 101.7 kWh capacity ternary lithium battery based on the 897V SiC high-voltage platform. Xiaomi claims that charging for 15 minutes is enough to increase the mileage to 570 km, while the total mileage according to the CLTC standard reaches 705 km.
For the control sector, Xiaomi has pinned the Jiaolong Chassis Master Edition which has been tested and improved at the Nürburgring. The system includes a dual-valve CDC damper with two-way damping settings, closed double-chamber air suspension.
Where it allows for independent height and stiffness settings, as well as eLSD or electronic limited-slip differential that can distribute power to the rear wheels in just milliseconds.
In the braking sector, the YU7 GT is equipped with large-sized carbon-ceramic discs and high-performance calipers from Akebono with a configuration of six pistons in front and four pistons in the rear. This system allows the car to stop from a speed of 100 km/h to a standstill in just 32.9 meters.
Xiaomi also claims that braking performance remains stable even if repeated braking is performed from 180 km/h to a stop ten times in a row. This electric SUV comes in five color options divided into four themes, namely "Crimson Red" for the Sports series, "Volcanic Grey" in the Luxury series, "Obsidian Black" and "Pearl White" in the Classic series, and "Titanium" for the Fashion series.
Xiaomi also offers the use of carbon fiber materials extensively on the exterior and interior parts, including a 24-carat gold-plated carbon fiber emblem. Entering the cabin, the interior of the YU7 GT is wrapped in 2.3 square meters of Alcantara material.
Standard features provided include massage functions for four seats, a smart canopy with a light protection level of up to 99.85 percent, and an ultra-quiet cabin. The level of silence is supported by the use of multi-layer PVB acoustic glass on the windshield, doors, and canopy, plus more than 30 improvements to the sound-damping system.
