Hayley Williams Says Her First Solo Tour Brought Back Her Teenager Soul and Passion for Music
JAKARTA - Hayley Williams shared her reflections after completing her first solo concert tour in North America. The Paramore frontwoman admitted that the trip had changed her rhythm of life and mindset, like a teenager who dreams of a dream.
The series of performances that Williams performed in North America officially ended in Los Angeles, last week. This tour was held specifically to promote his latest solo album titled "Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party".
Through his latest note on the Substack Live Journal platform, Williams revealed how the intensity of life on stage deeply affected his physical and mental state.
"The tour turned me back into a person who was active at night. Back to being a teenage dreamer with dark circles under my eyes," Williams said.
"However, touring makes me wake up every morning at 08.45 without an alarm. Both on the day of the show and on other days," he continued.
Despite the busy schedule of the stage draining energy, Taylor Swift's best friend admitted that he felt a huge passion for life - something he hadn't felt in years.
Williams also analogized the process of communication and expression of his overflowing emotions by quoting the statement of the legendary Icelandic musician, Björk.
"Björk once said in an interview that language and communication is like trying to drain the ocean through a straw. I guess, I am the ocean," the 37-year-old singer said.
During his performance in Los Angeles, Williams gave a big surprise to fans, bringing a row of indie musicians to the stage to collaborate, including Jenny Lewis, Julien Baker, Jack Antonoff, and Best Coast vocalist Bethany Cosentino.
After completing the North American tour, Hayley Williams is scheduled to depart for England and Europe in June to continue her solo tour saga.
The tour schedule includes two major concerts at the Roundhouse, London, as well as appearances in major cities such as Milan, Amsterdam, and Berlin.
Not stopping there, Williams has also just confirmed an expansion of a global tour titled "The Hayley Williams Show". The new series is sure to visit other North American regions as well as Latin America, where he promises more exploratory solo material and various exciting surprises on stage.
