JAKARTA - A gang of armed robbers was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Metro Penjaringan Police. The suspects are known as MI, FS, KM and MAD.

The suspects, who numbered 4 people, were acting on Jalan Pluit Indah Raya, Pluit Village, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta.

In the action, the four suspects have different roles. The suspect with the initials MI plays the role of a Scoopy motorcycle jockey.

The suspect with the initials FS acted as a Supra motorcycle jockey. The KM suspect played a role in carrying away the victim's motorcycle. Meanwhile, the main suspect of the celurit carrier is the initials MAD.

The Head of the Metro Police, AKBP Agta Bhuwana Putra, said the incident began when the victim passed by the crime scene and was followed by 4 men using 2 motorbikes.

"Suddenly the victim was kicked and kicked until the motorcycle driven by the victim fell. Then the victim was waved and swung a sharp weapon of the type of celurit by the perpetrator," said the Police Chief to reporters, Thursday, May 21, 2026.

Feeling threatened, the victim then ran away leaving his motorcycle. Then the victim's motorcycle was seized by the perpetrators.

The victim, whose initials are RFH, then reported the incident to the Penjaringan Police.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Penjaringan Police, AKP Sampson Sosa Hutapea, said his party confiscated a red Scoopy motorcycle without a number plate, a machete and a flash drive containing CCTV footage.

"The role of the suspects in committing violent theft is also different. The suspects MI and FS play a role in supervising around the crime scene," he said.

Meanwhile, the suspect with the initials MAD played a role in swinging a sharp weapon of the celurit type.

"MAD swung a machete at the victim. Meanwhile, KM took the victim's motorcycle," he said.

As a result of their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 479 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 9 years in prison.
