Motorcycle Still On Fire In Front Of The House, Left By The Owner, Taken Away By Thieves, Fortunately, They Were Successfully Caught

JAKARTA - A man specializing in motorcycle theft with the initials B who often troubled residents was arrested by members of the Metro Tamansari Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Thursday, May 21, 2026.

The suspect with the initials B was arrested while trying to take away the motorcycle belonging to AG as a resident of Jalan Gajah Mada, Tamansari, West Jakarta.

Tamansari Police Chief, Kompol Bobby M. Zulfikar said that the motorcycle theft action began when the victim, whose initials were AG, was warming up his Honda Supra X motorcycle engine in front of the house.

Then the victim left the motorcycle to drink coffee. However, when the victim was distracted, the perpetrator immediately stole the motorcycle.

"So at the time of the incident, the victim was warming up his motorcycle in front of the house, then went inside the house to drink coffee. Not long after, the victim was surprised to see his motorcycle when he came back out of the house," said the Police Chief when confirmed.

Then, with the help of his neighbor, the victim who saw the perpetrator pushing his motorcycle not far from the location immediately chased him.

"Seeing the perpetrator was pushing his motorcycle not far from his house, the victim immediately chased after him with his neighbors," he said.

Fortunately, when the incident occurred, there were members of the Metro Tamansari Police Criminal Investigation Unit who were conducting an observation of the area so that they would arrest the perpetrator.

The head of the Tamansari Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Egy Irwansyah, the suspect and the evidence were taken to the Tamansari Police to be further developed.

"After receiving information about the theft, our members who were on patrol immediately went to the location and took the perpetrator to the Tamansari Police," said AKP Egy, confirmed separately.

Currently, the perpetrator is still undergoing in-depth examination by investigators of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tamansari Police.

"The perpetrator is not married. From the temporary confession, it was only once," he said.

Meanwhile, the motive for the perpetrator to steal the motorcycle is still under investigation by the police. As a result of the incident, the victim suffered a loss of Rp. 5 million.

Meanwhile, the suspect was charged with Article 476 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison.
