Law Buying Discount Sacrificial Animals, This is the Explanation of the Muamalah Fiqh Expert

YOGYAKARTA - Ahead of Eid al-Adha, there are many attractive sacrificial animal promos on various digital platforms. Sacrificial animals are offered at a more affordable price through discounts or flash sales. However, although profitable, many question whether buying sacrificial animals at a discount is allowed? Is it legal if the price paid is cheaper than the normal price?

In order not to be mistaken in worship, it is important for us to understand the laws and provisions of sharia related to this. In that way, the sacrifice remains valid while providing benefits for both the sacrificer and the recipient.

The Law on Buying Discount Sacrificial Animals

In Islam, muamalah transactions are basically allowed as long as they do not violate sharia principles. This also applies in the context of buying sacrificial animals with discounts or flash sales (discounts within a certain period of time).

Quoted from Langit 7, muamalah fiqh expert, Ustadz Oni Sahroni said that the law to buy discounted sacrificial animals is basically allowed. He explained that there are two things to be considered, namely the source of the promo and the ability of the organizer to meet the core provisions of the sacrifice.

If both aspects are met, then the law of buying discounted sacrificial animals is permissible, and vice versa.

"The point is that if the source of the halal promotion, and the provisions of the sacrifice are fulfilled, it is allowed to participate in the sacrifice flash sale. But if both of them occur deviations, it is not allowed," he said.

Thus, the validity of the sacrifice is not determined by its low price, but by fulfilling the conditions, rukun, and adab of the sacrifice.

"This institution must be able to fulfill the adab of sacrifice. When all of this is fulfilled, then you can immediately talk about discounts or discounts according to the provisions," he added.

In this case, the organizer must also ensure the quality of the sacrificial animals according to the sharia. The animals must be healthy, of age, and not deformed, and the slaughter process is carried out according to Islamic provisions. If all of these are met, then the discount does not reduce the validity of the sacrificial worship.

Tips for Buying Sacrificial Animals

In order for the sacrificial worship to be valid and of quality, here are some important things to consider when buying sacrificial animals, especially if through a discount promo.

Make sure the animal is healthy.

The sacrificial animal must be in good health, not thin, and have no physical defects. Check the animal's eyes, fur, and movement to ensure its quality. If you buy online, make sure there is clear documentation.

Check the age of the animal according to the sharia

Each type of animal has a minimum age limit for sacrifice. For example, goats are at least one year old, while cows are at least two years old and have entered their third year.

Choose a trusted seller or institution

Trust is very important in the purchase of sacrificial animals, especially online. Make sure the seller has a good reputation and is transparent in the process. Trusted institutions usually provide reports on the distribution of sacrifices.

Pay attention to the source of the discount

Make sure the discount comes from a halal mechanism and does not harm other parties. Avoid promos that are unclear about their origins. This is important because it is directly related to the legality of the transaction.

Ensure the slaughter process is in accordance with syariat.

Not only animals, the slaughter process must also comply with Islamic rules. Make sure it is done by competent people and at the specified time.

By understanding the law and following the tips above, it is hoped that the worship carried out is valid and brings benefits to the wider community. Cheap prices are not a problem as long as the quality of animals and the process of carrying out the sacrifice remain in accordance with the syariat. Happy Eid al-Adha.
