Ministry of Health Collaboration to Facilitate Free Health Check for Ojol Drivers in 17 Cities

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Health or Kemenkes continues to echo the Free Health Check program for all layers of the Indonesian people, including online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers. For the smooth implementation, collaboration with related parties is also important to be carried out.

Such as the collaboration carried out by the Ministry of Health together with Gojek from PT GoTo Gojek Indonesia Tbk to facilitate access to the Free Health Check program for ojol driver partners. This program starts from February to December 2026, starting in Palembang and Bandung.

"The government continues to expand the reach of the Free Health Check program to reach various layers of society, including through community approaches," said Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Sp.PD-KEMD, Ph.D., at Kemang, South Jakarta, on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

The program is targeted to reach thousands of driver partners in 15 other cities, bringing the total to 17 cities. Some other cities such as Jabodetabek, Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang, Surabaya, Malang, Medan, Lampung, Makassar, Balikpapan, and Bali.

In this launch phase, the Free Health Check service is presented directly at the points of activity of the drivers, including the Gojek Partner House or operational office, with the support of health workers from the Ministry of Health.

Furthermore, drivers can also independently participate in this program through government health services such as health centers in local cities, with the support of information and programs that can be accessed through information messages in the Gojek Driver application.

"We want to ensure that the Free Health Check program as one of the government's quick wins is really used as widely as possible by the community. Health checks like this if done independently can cost around Rp. 2 million to Rp. 3 million per person, so it's a shame if this opportunity is not used," added Prof. Dante.

Deputy President Director & Deputy CEO of GoTo Group, Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo, said that collaboration with the Ministry of Health was a step to strengthen driver workers through health services.

"We support this government program and encourage the active participation of Driver Partners. This facility is one of our concrete steps to support the Indonesian government's Asta Cita in human resource development (HRD) through strengthening access and quality of health services," said Catherine.

Meanwhile, through the collaboration program, ojol drivers can access health examination services in the form of physical, eye, blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol screening, to general health consultations.

The service is also equipped with follow-up examinations such as heart (ECG), early detection of cervical cancer (IVA), blood donation, and the provision of medication according to the results of the examination, to help drivers recognize their health conditions early and take the right steps.

With this free access to health examination facilities, ojol drivers admit that they are very helpful because they can recognize their own health conditions and can immediately take care of it if certain health disorders are found.

"I just had a check-up, so I found out all my health results and I turned out to have high blood pressure and obesity. With this check, there will be anticipation for the future," concluded Husein, a Jakarta-based Mitra Driver.
