A New Direction for D'Masiv as an Independent Band, Dare to Dream Higher

JAKARTA - Over two decades old, D'Masiv is actually entering a new era. They decided to step out on their own after saying goodbye to the Musica Studios label.

This big step is also a recent achievement point for Rian, Kiki, Why, Rama and Rai. The independent path also makes the five of them dare to dream more, from Ciledug to a more distant stage.

As a first step, Rian et al. introduced their new logo with a typical paper plane icon. The icon is considered to represent the spirit of D'Masiv who wants to continue to grow.

"Why a paper plane, because it is simple but can fly anywhere. Just like our spirit that comes from simplicity in Ciledug, and wants to achieve the next big dreams," explained Rian in a press conference on May 20 at the Tosari Stop, Thamrin. Menteng Central Jakarta.

The journey of more than 20 years together makes their vision and mission stronger. Therefore, D'Masiv wants to expand the reach of listeners with global expansion.

Starting from appearing in the United States through the Musexpo 2025 event, their steps towards the global market are getting stronger. D'Masiv has collaborated and they have songs with world-class music producers.

From this process, On Our Own was born, D'Masiv's latest single which is aimed at a wider market. The exploration in terms of lyrics and music gives a strong enough difference from their discography.

"In terms of color, the music may be more exploratory, including mixing. But the common thread of D'Masiv's pop remains," said Why.

Memaknai Term Go Internasional

D'Masiv's international go plan is not interpreted as completely they will have a career abroad. They interpret this phase as an expansion to expand the scope of listeners in various countries.

"It doesn't mean we've forgotten the Indonesian market, because after all, the music connoisseurs here are amazing. Maybe fans will feel a little less familiar with our new music, but we don't want to repeat the same thing," said Rian.

For the tour later, D'Masiv will collaborate with Antara Suara as a promoter. With the freedom to work as an indie band, Rian et al want to make a concert that is really conceptual.

"Because the moment we are also independent, so we can chat more flexibly, more deeply. To make a concert that we really make a concept," he said.
