Three People Died Due to a Mysterious Substance in New Mexico

JAKARTA - Three people were killed and a number of medical personnel were hospitalized after allegedly coming into contact with an unknown substance in Mountainair, New Mexico, United States.

"Unfortunately, two people were found dead when officers arrived at the scene, and another person from the house later died," said Mountainair Mayor Peter Nieto through a statement on social media, Wednesday, May 20, reported by ANTARA from Sputnik.

"Currently, there is no indication that this situation is spreading through the air. This incident is believed to be related to a substance that can be transferred from one person to another," he said.

A number of medical personnel who had contact with the victim were then taken to the hospital.

According to Nieto, some of them have been repatriated, while others have started to show symptoms.
