KPK Fully Supports MBG with Strengthening Corruption Prevention
SERANG - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) expressed full support for President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs, including Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), by emphasizing the strengthening of corruption prevention in its implementation.
"The KPK according to its mandate (tasks and functions) also has an obligation to ensure that flagship programs run well, are on target, transparent, that accountability is maintained, and of course that there is no corruption in its implementation," said Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK Aminudin in Serang Regency, Banten, Wednesday (20/5) evening.
Aminudin emphasized the importance of strengthening corruption prevention, especially because the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as the program executor is a new institution that is still building a working system and regulations.
"An institution that has just been formed, with a regulatory framework that is still not established, with its organization still not established, then carries out the mandate of a national program with a large budget so that we need to see that in its implementation this must not be misused," he said.
According to him, the KPK through the Monitoring Directorate in 2025 conducted a corruption prevention study on the governance of the MBG program.
Aminudin said that a number of aspects were of concern, including the readiness of regulations, organizations, and infrastructure supporting the program, which were considered still in need of strengthening.
"If we look at it, from the side of governance it will be chaotic. The new institution is standing, its infrastructure is not ready, its organization and regulations are not ready, it has received a fairly large mandate with a large budget," he said.
He said, the budget for the MBG program in 2025 reached Rp71 trillion with a realization of 72.5 percent or Rp51.5 trillion as of December 31, 2025. Meanwhile, in 2026, the budget, which was originally Rp335 trillion, was cut to Rp268 trillion.
Aminudin emphasized the large budget increases the potential for corruption so that supervision needs to be strengthened.
"The large budget is what led the KPK to enter the realm of prevention because when a project with a large budget, the risk of fraud or corruption will certainly be high," he said.
In addition, the KPK also assessed that the program had not provided a significant multiplier effect for the community at the village and sub-district levels.
Meanwhile, the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana on April 21, 2026 expressed appreciation for the KPK's study regarding the governance of the MBG program.
"This is a very important statement to note. We will delve together so that we can close the gaps that have the potential to be weaknesses in the system owned by BGN," said Dadan.
