NTB Prosecutor Dismisses the Issue of a Prosecutor Accepting Bribes from the Defendant in the MXGP Land Corruption Case

MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office has denied the news that a number of prosecutors allegedly received bribes from Subhan, the former Head of the Sumbawa Land Agency who was a defendant in a case of alleged corruption in the procurement of land for the construction of the MXGP Circuit in the Samota area.

"Yes, there is no flow of funds (bribe receipt). The team from the district is careful here, has seen the movement of money, both in the case of TPPU (Money Laundering Criminal Act) and gratification," said NTB District Attorney's Spokesperson Harun Al Rasyid in Mataram, Wednesday, May 20, reported by ANTARA.

The news of the alleged acceptance of bribes by a number of prosecutors came from Subhan's lawyer, Kurniadi. He confirmed that his party had evidence of a number of prosecutors as bribe recipients.

"There is evidence of transfers. It's on us. There is money in and out," said Kurniadi.

However, he revealed that the evidence of the transfer had not been recorded as part of the prosecutor's examination of his client in the investigation process of the TPPU case and the gratification of the results of the development of the main case of land procurement.

If in the series of investigations of TPPU and gratification, the investigators do not also delve into the issue of the flow of money that goes into the pockets of prosecutors, Kurniadi emphasized that his client will uncover it.

"So, everything (transfer evidence) has not entered the BAP (news of the examination event), which means that there has been no request for information related to it (the flow of money). Even if the prosecutor or investigator does not ask, yes that's what we reveal, we have to tell everything," he said.

In fact, he said, today is a momentum for Subhan to reveal this in the agenda of the examination by investigators as a witness to the TPPU and gratification cases. However, his client is unable to provide information due to illness.

"Subhan is sick, he just finished being examined at the kejati clinic, we accompanied him. Because he was sick, so it was postponed (examination)," he said.

He explained the results of the health examination at the Adhyaksa Kejati NTB Pratama Clinic, Subhan complained of nerve disorders in the spine.

According to Kurniadi, his client, who is currently being detained at the West Lombok Class II A Prison on the status of a defendant in land procurement, must receive follow-up health examinations from a neurologist.

"So, earlier the tension was 163, there was an indication of a (bone) nerve disorder in the back. This has been felt by our client for a long time, in prison he was only given pain medication. There should be a referral for examination from a specialist doctor," he said.

He also did not deny that the slow handling of health made his client's examination delayed.
