KAI Logistics Focus on Developing Warehousing, Prepare Modern Environmentally Friendly Warehouses in Bandung and Purwokerto
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik) strengthens its business strategy in 2026 by focusing on the development of warehousing infrastructure as part of efforts to expand integrated logistics services. The company plans to build finished goods warehouse facilities in Bandung and Purwokerto which are expected to be realized in September 2026.
Director of Business Development of KAI Logistics, Aniek Dwi Deviyanti, said that this development was a strategic step in expanding the company's service capabilities.
"This step is part of KAI Logistics' commitment to providing a variety of logistics services, ranging from distribution, pre-after-sales services, to other logistics support services. With the strengthening of the warehousing sector, KAI Logistics not only serves as a distribution service provider, but also as an important part of the national logistics ecosystem that is able to provide logistics solutions for customers," he said in a written statement, Wednesday, May 20.
This development is prepared to answer the industry's need for logistics facilities that are increasingly modern, efficient, and in accordance with the characteristics of commodities. The warehouse to be built is finished goods for food warehouses, chemical warehouses, office areas, and other supporting facilities to ensure optimal operation and meet the safety and quality standards required by customers.
"In addition to being modern, we designed this warehouse with the advantage of cold storage facilities to maintain the durability and quality of food during the storage process, as well as the use of solar panels as part of efforts to increase energy efficiency and support more environmentally friendly operations," continued Aniek.
The company's focus on the development of this warehouse is also supported by the trend of national logistics industry growth, especially the increasingly strategic role of warehousing. Data shows that the transportation and warehousing sector in Indonesia grew 8.04 percent (yoy) in the first quarter of 2026.
Warehousing is no longer just a storage place, but has evolved into a distribution and inventory management center that plays an important role in maintaining the quality of goods, as well as improving overall operational efficiency. Therefore, strengthening the warehousing infrastructure is a strategic step for logistics players to respond to the increasingly complex market needs while supporting national economic growth.
Previously, KAI Logistics had completed the construction of two warehouses, including the warehouse in Jakarta Gudang and Cirebon which were used to support operational and service customer needs.
"Through this development, KAI Logistics confirms its commitment to providing reliable, efficient, and sustainable logistics services, as well as contributing to encouraging the growth of the increasingly competitive national logistics sector in the future," concluded Aniek.
