DKI Satpol PP Starts to Discipline Animal Sacrifice Traders Selling on the Sidewalk

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Satpol PP unit has begun to supervise sacrificial animal traders who are determined to use the sidewalk as a selling location ahead of Iduladha 2026. After finding a sacrificial stall in East Jakarta, a similar practice was also found in the Central Jakarta area.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Satriadi Gunawan ensured that his ranks would take action against traders who still disobeyed by using pedestrian facilities to sell.

"What we do is patrol. If it is found, we will immediately take action. Usually the Lurah sends a letter for warning first, right, appealing. Well, if it is appealed and not addressed, then we will enforce it," said Satriadi to reporters, Wednesday, May 20.

On the ground, Satpol PP also began to move to enforce discipline. One of them was carried out by Satpol PP personnel from Pisangan Timur Village with Pulo Gadung District officers on Jalan Cipinang Kebembem V RT 013/RW 013, East Jakarta.

The action was taken after a report from the public through the CRM complaint channel regarding sacrificial traders who used the sidewalk for a place to sell.

The order refers to Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order and Public Order. In the order, officers provided education to traders not to use the sidewalk and to maintain environmental cleanliness.

"Officers give sanctions and educate sacrificial traders to maintain the function of sidewalks and cleanliness in the environment or road users so that they are not disturbed, and the sidewalk can be used for pedestrians. officers will also monitor the location," said Satriadi.

One of the points of the sacrificial animal stalls occupying other sidewalks is in the Karet Tengsin and Johar Baru area, Central Jakarta. When he received information about the location, Satriadi immediately asked his subordinates to follow up on the report.

"Later I will confirm with the platoon commander, so that it can be followed up," he said.

Even so, Satriadi could not reveal the total number of violations of the sale of sacrificial animals on the sidewalk that his party had found. Because, the momentum of Eid al-Adha will still take place in the next few days.
