Puan in front of President Prabowo: DPR supports all government programs as long as for the welfare of the people

JAKARTA - House of Representatives (DPR) Chairwoman Puan Maharani emphasized that the DPR would always support the Government's programs as long as they were intended to achieve the welfare of the people.

This was conveyed by Puan in front of President Prabowo Subianto who was present directly at the DPR to convey the macro economic framework (KEM) and the main points of the fiscal policy (PPKF) of the Draft State Budget (RAPBN) for the 2027 Fiscal Year in the 19th DPR RI Plenary Meeting of the 2025-2026 Session Period in the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 20.

"The presence of the President in delivering the 2027 PPKF KEM is an important and strategic momentum to confirm that the design and construction of the 2027 State Budget is directed to provide the greatest possible benefits for all Indonesian people," said Puan.

Puan also stated that the DPR would evaluate and collaborate in discussing the draft of the 2027 Budget Year APBN which Prabowo had submitted to the DPR. "Of course, what the government has made and planned at this time will be on June 4, all factions in the DPR will express their opinions," he explained.

"So we can evaluate whether we can carry out this program this year or next year so that there is good collaboration in achieving all the programs that we hope to achieve the best possible welfare for the people," added Puan.

Puan also emphasized the importance of synergy between the DPR and the Government in discussing the 2027 RAPBN. "And whatever we will do, I believe that the synergy and coordination between the executive and the legislature that have been running very well," he said.

Puan then touched on the importance of cooperation between the DPR and the Government in drafting the 2027 RAPBN. "As the hope that has always been conveyed by the President, mutual cooperation and togetherness in building the nation and state are solely for the welfare of the people, as well as for the unity and unity of the Indonesian nation," continued Puan.

After the presentation of the KEM PPKF RAPBN 2027, the DPR will hold a joint discussion with the Government. Puan said that at this moment there will also be an evaluation of previous Government programs so that in the future the achievement of programs will be better.

"We hope that all the programs and achievements that have been carried out in 2026 can be improved, evaluated, and the 2027 plan will certainly be better, planned so that the programs can be absorbed well and smoothly," he said.

"And we in the DPR will continue to support all programs planned by the Government, as long as the program is solely carried out for the welfare of all people and the Indonesian nation, for Indonesia to always be united, for the Red and White," said Puan.

According to the former Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the contents of the PPKF KEM are always a hope for all Indonesian people. Because, said Puan, the PPKF KEM is a design for the state budget so that the people can feel the benefits of national development.

"So that people's lives are easier and more prosperous. Especially in the current uncertain global situation," said Puan.
