Soroti Perang Dunia, Prabowo Sebut Ekonomi Indonesia Disiapkan Hadapi Guncangan

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto considers the current global situation to be in a dangerous phase. Wars in a number of world regions are said to have a direct impact on the Indonesian economy.

In his speech at the DPR, Wednesday, May 20, Prabowo said that global conflicts are no longer distant issues that are not related to the lives of Indonesian people.

"Wars are happening in many places, even in Europe, in the Middle East, in a region that although far from us, turns out to have a very big impact and influence on our lives," said Prabowo.

Therefore, he admitted that he deliberately came directly to the DPR to explain the direction of the government's economic and fiscal policies ahead of the preparation of the 2027 State Budget.

"I deliberately ask for time to stand in front of you to convey directly the direction of our country's economic and fiscal policies," he said.

Prabowo said Indonesia must strengthen the resilience of the national economy amid global uncertainty.

He emphasized that the government would maintain fiscal, inflation, exchange rate, and energy sector stability so that global turmoil would not hit the domestic economy too much.

In the 2027 State Budget, the government targets a deficit of maximum 2.4 percent of GDP and inflation to remain under control at 1.5 to 3.5 percent.

The speech was one of the strongest affirmations from President Prabowo since talking about the threat of a global war against the Indonesian economy.
