CBA Urges KPK to Investigate Alleged Transfer of East Kutai Regency Assets in Cilandak

JAKARTA. The alleged transfer of assets belonging to the East Kutai Regency Government (Kutim) in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta, has been highlighted by a number of parties. The transaction is suspected of not going through the appropriate mechanism for managing regional assets.

The Executive Director of the Center for Budget Analysis (CBA) Uchok Sky Khadafi asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to investigate businessman Sandiana Soemarko regarding the alleged purchase of assets through PT Wismamas Citraraya.

"This case needs to be opened openly. The KPK must investigate Sandiana Soemarko because it is suspected that there is a practice of collusion in the purchase of assets belonging to the East Kutai Regency in South Jakarta," said Uchok, Wednesday (20/5).

According to Uchok, the release of regional assets must go through a number of stages, ranging from internal approval, administrative studies, independent appraisals, to legal mechanisms.

CBA assessed that the transaction was questionable because it was suspected to have been carried out without the consent of PT Kutai Timur Investama (KTI), a BUMD owned by the East Kutai Regency Government.

"This concerns state assets or regional assets so that the entire process must be transparent," he said.

Uchok also asked law enforcement officers to trace documents related to transactions, including appraisals, meeting minutes, sales decisions, and cash flows.

Muslim political and legal observer Arbi assessed that the KPK needed to examine all parties suspected of being involved so that the handling of the case could run independently.

Meanwhile, legal practitioner Damai Hari Lubis said the alleged transfer of assets without an official mechanism could lead to corruption and land mafia practices.

The assets in question are said to be located in a strategic area of South Jakarta with high economic value.

Until this news was published, there was no official response from Sandiana Soemarko, PT Wismamas Citraraya, and the East Kutai Regency Government.
