Check Your NIK, Before It Is Used for Pinjol

Tangerang - The Tangerang City Communication and Information Technology Office (Diskominfo) in Banten, invites the public to check the status of the National Identification Number (NIK) to avoid cases of identity abuse for illegal online loans (pinjol).

Head of the Tangerang City Information and Communication Technology Office, Mugiya Wardhany, in Tangerang, Wednesday, said that the public could use the OJK Financial Information Service System (SLIK) through the iDebku platform to see the history of atautrack recordkredit.

"If there are mysterious loans that have never been submitted, residents can immediately take legal action or report it," said Mugiya.

According to him, the NIK status examination needs to be carried out to anticipate the rampant cases of misuse of citizen identities by irresponsible parties.

Moreover, the protection of personal data is very crucial in the digital era today. Therefore, education is considered important so that residents can check their NIK status independently with only a mobile phone.

"Currently, people's concerns about the misuse of NIK for illegal loans are quite high. We want to ensure that residents of Tangerang City have an understanding and access to detect this early," he said.

Through education, the Tangerang City Information and Communication Office hopes that the community will be more digitally savvy and not careless in sharing important documents such as ID cards or NIK on platforms that are not trusted.

"We invite all elements of the community, from the RT/RW level to the community, to remind each other of relatives and close family. Don't wait until you become a victim. Let's use this iDebku OJK facility to protect ourselves," he said.
