Today, 4 TNI Soldiers Face Trial for Water Hard Case for Kontras Activists

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Military Court II-08 will hold a trial on charges against four TNI soldiers who are accused of spraying hard water on the Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras), Andrie Yunus. The trial is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 20.

"Tomorrow the agenda is a demand," said the spokesperson for the Jakarta Military Court II-08, Endah Wulandari, when confirmed on Tuesday, May 19.

Endah explained that in the trial, the four defendants would listen to the demands of the military prosecutor.

According to him, the trial was held in public so that the public could follow the trial.

"It's good to come early so you can follow the trial process from the beginning," said Endah.

In the previous trial, the presiding judge, Colonel Jaka Fredy Ferdian Isnar Tanto, emphasized the importance of the direct presence of Andrie Yunus as a victim witness.

The panel of judges considered that the victim's testimony was necessary to explain the physical condition, the impact of the injuries, and the trauma experienced as a result of the act of spraying hard water.

The presence of the victim in the courtroom is also considered important so that the process of proving the case runs more clearly and transparently.
