JAKARTA - The Saudi Ministry of the Interior, Sunday (17/5), confirmed that a fine of up to SAR20,000 (Rp93 million) will be imposed on anyone who is caught performing or attempting to perform the hajj without permission.
Residents and those who violate the validity of visas and try to perform the hajj illegally will also be deported to their home countries and banned from re-entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 10 years.
The sentence is valid from the first day of Dzul Qi'dah (April 19, 2026) until the end of Dzul Hijjah on the 14th (June 1, 2026).
The ministry, as reported by Antara from the SPA (Saudi Press Agency), urged everyone to comply with the regulations governing this year's hajj season and to cooperate with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims, noting that violations will be subject to legal sanctions.
The ministry also called on the public to report violations by calling 911 in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and 999 in all other regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
