Adie Kadir's Position in the DPR Replaced by His Son Proof of the Pattern of Regional Domination

JAKARTA - Political observer of the Citra Institute, Efriza, revealed that the phenomenon of father and son who managed to get significant votes in the same electoral district (dapil), such as the case of Adies Kadir and his daughter, Adela Kanasya Adies, showed things that were sad in the internal Golkar Party.

First, the Golkar Party's disregard for the principle of fairness in competing, where they prioritize the potential for victory in the legislative elections by ignoring diversity in the election.

Second, it shows the weakness of the Golkar Party in fulfilling affirmative action for prospective members of the legislature from women.

"With evidence showing the occurrence of kinship politics, it is indicated that the proposed one is indeed a female legislator who comes from a kinship politics or political dynasty," said Efriza, Sunday, May 17.

Third, the Adies-Adela case shows a pattern of controlling the electoral district by ignoring the democratic model.

This also demonstrates the development of an iron law model of oligarchy that abuses the role and function of political parties in political recruitment.

"What is built is 4L (lo lagi, lo lagi) or 2KLL (Family lo lagi, family lo lagi). So, between Adies-Adela it is not entirely their fault, they are even observant in seeing opportunities to target the electoral district so that both of them can be elected and even make the electoral district belong to the family," he explained.

Efriza added that what should be highlighted is the pragmatism of political parties from the political work of the Golkar Party which only pursues the acquisition of more seats, which ultimately ignores the recruitment process and the more diverse kaderisasi process, even the creation of the principle of justice in competing for its cadres.

He assessed that what Golkar Party did was considered to be the character of the party which prioritized building kinship political identity in the nomination process of its party members. "Kin politics cannot be interpreted as a form of appreciation because the achievements of his parents were elected in the district and then passed down to his children," he explained.

On the other hand, he sees this can also show the party's weaknesses such as the limited potential cadres in the Golkar Party. Or, there are other allegations that are biased, for example, the allegation that the cost of politics to run as a candidate will be expensive.

"Both in the internal process and the campaign and election process. Because after all, democracy in Indonesia is a problem of expensive political costs and political kinship or political dynasty," said Efriza.
