Drake Breaks Record for Most Streamed Artist in a Day with Three Album Releases
JAKARTA - Canadian rapper Aubrey Graham, better known as Drake, has once again made a new history in the global music industry.
Through the release of an ambitious project in the form of three albums at once—"Iceman", "Habibti", and "Maid of Honour"—the musician successfully broke three records on the Spotify platform in less than 24 hours.
Drake was officially named the artist whose song was played the most in one day on Spotify throughout 2026.
Not only that, "Iceman" also took the position as the album with the highest number of plays in a day this year, followed by its opening track titled "Make Them Cry" as the most listened to song on a daily scale in 2026.
Drake's dominance doesn't stop at Spotify. Through Amazon Music, "Iceman" is listed as the hip-hop album with the largest first 24-hour streaming debut globally in 2026.
Collectively, the release of the album trilogy also gave the most massive first 24-hour viewing debut figures worldwide for the year.
The presence of three new albums was a big surprise for fans. Previously, the 39-year-old rapper had given a hint about the presence of his ninth studio album, "Iceman", for about two years.
The promotion was carried out through three live broadcast episodes that showcased a number of new song materials.
Hours before the official release schedule, Drake launched the fourth episode of the "Iceman" live broadcast series. A big surprise happened at the end of the broadcast when he announced that the album was not alone, but accompanied by two other albums, "Maid of Honour" and "Habibti", which were immediately available on various music platforms at midnight.
To celebrate this rare moment, the iconic CN Tower in Toronto was even decorated with a special ice-themed visual projection.
