Antoine Semenyo's single goal to Chelsea's goal, making Manchester City the FA Cup champion

JAKARTA - Manchester City keluar sebagai juara Piala FA setelah menaklukkan Chelsea 1-0 dalam final di Stadion Wembley pada Sabtu.

Antoine Semenyo's single goal in the second half ensured the trophy fell into the hands of Pep Guardiola's troops.

This success, as reported by Antara, makes City win two domestic trophies this season after also winning the Carabao Cup.

Meanwhile, for Chelsea, the defeat made them fail to close the season with a trophy and threatened to be unable to compete in European competitions next season, according to TheFA's website.

City immediately pressed from the start of the match and their first chance came from Semenyo's action who passed a number of players before firing a shot that was blocked by Chelsea's back line. The loose ball was picked up by Omar Marmoush, but Robert Sanchez blocked it.

The Citizens again threatened through the combination of Jeremy Doku and Rodri.

Rodri's header from Doku's cross was blocked, before Erling Haaland pounced on the ball with a jumping kick that was again thwarted by Chelsea's defense.

Haaland managed to break Chelsea's goal in the first half, but was ruled out because Matheus Nunes was offside before sending a cross to the Norwegian bomber.

Chelsea several times tried to get out of the pressure and build counterattacks. However, the Blues' attempts always failed in the final third of the field.

Before halftime, Chelsea asked for a penalty after Joao Pedro fell due to contact with Abdukodir Khusanov in the penalty box, but the referee ignored it.

In the second half, City again got a golden opportunity. Rayan Cherki's pass was passed on by Nico O'Reilly with a cross to the front of the goal, but Semenyo's close-range header bounced over the crossbar.

Chelsea again claimed a penalty after Joao Pedro was brought down by Khusanov on the right side of the attack. However, the referee's decision remained unchanged.

The deadlock was broken in the 72nd minute when Chelsea lost the ball in their own defensive area and Manchester City immediately launched a quick counterattack.

Haaland worked with Cherki before sending a cross from the right side that Semenyo deflected with his heel into the far post to give City a 1-0 lead.

Chelsea again protested the referee's decision five minutes later after Khusanov was deemed to have fouled Jorrel Hato in the penalty box. However, the referee again did not point to the white line.

The Blues got a golden opportunity through the cooperation of Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez which was passed on by Pedro Neto. Unfortunately, Neto's shot from a narrow angle did not endanger James Trafford's goal.

On the other hand, Robert Sanchez was brilliant with two consecutive saves. The Chelsea goalkeeper repelled Matheus Nunes' shot before thwarting Rayan Cherki's opportunity from inside the penalty area.

Chelsea had one last chance in injury time through a header from Rori Delap who took advantage of a pass from Malo Gusto. However, the ball went wide of the target.
