Police Record 88 Thousand Vehicles Entering Bandung City During Long Holidays
BANDUNG - The Bandung City Police (Polrestabes) recorded as many as 88,000 vehicles entering Bandung City during the long holiday of the Ascension of Jesus Christ on May 13-16, 2026.
Head of the Bandung Police Traffic Unit AKBP Hudi Arif in Bandung, Saturday, said the number of vehicles entering was higher than the number of vehicles leaving, which had an impact on traffic density at a number of points.
"The total number of vehicles entering through arterial roads and toll access reached 88,000 vehicles, while the number of vehicles leaving Bandung City was recorded at 60,992 vehicles," said Hudi.
He said the traffic density generally occurred at the entrance and exit of the Bandung City toll gate. The majority of tourists from outside the area enter through the toll road.
"The density points that need to be anticipated are at the toll gates out and in Bandung City such as GT Pasteur, Buahbatu, Moh. Toha, and Summarecon," he said.
Hudi said that congestion was also likely to occur in shopping centers and tourist areas. The police have placed personnel at a number of points to disperse vehicle congestion.
"For other points such as shopping centers, large malls, and routes to tourist attractions such as the Ledeng red light intersection and the Dago area," he said.
He predicted that an increase in vehicle volume would still occur until Sunday (17/5). Therefore, the public is asked to arrange travel time and comply with traffic rules.
"We urge the public to continue to comply with traffic rules and prioritize safety when driving," he said.
