Ambassador Djauhari Says Xi Jinping and Donald Trump Meeting Signals Stability

JAKARTA - The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to China and Mongolia Djauhari Oratmangun stated that the meeting between President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump gave a signal of stability for the world.

"The meeting between President Trump and President Xi is important because it is expected to provide a positive signal for world and market stability amid global uncertainties," said Ambassador Djauhari in Beijing, Saturday.

Xi Jinping and Donald Trump had a bilateral meeting for 2 hours and 15 minutes on Thursday (14/5) which was followed by a visit to the Temple of Heaven and a state dinner.

Then on Friday (15/5), Trump also got a private tour of Zhongnanhai---the office and official residence of Xi Jinping and other Chinese Communist Party leaders.

"It is also important to look at the composition of the delegation of entrepreneurs from large American companies who are present, because it shows the direction of future cooperation, ranging from technology, artificial intelligence, supply chains, to the financial sector," added Ambassador Djauhari.

The dynamics, said Ambassador Djauhari, will certainly also have an impact on Indonesia.

At the dinner, President Xi said he and President Trump agreed to build a constructive and strategic stability China-US relationship, promote the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-US relations, and bring more peace, prosperity and progress to the world.

"Both countries can support each other's success and promote the welfare of the whole world," Xi said.

Meanwhile, Trump said the two countries have the opportunity to create a future with greater prosperity, cooperation, happiness, and peace for future generations.

Trump also invited Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan to come to the White House on September 24.

"We look forward to the visit," Trump concluded.

During his visit to Beijing, Trump came with 17 leaders of major US companies.

They are Tim Cook (Apple CEO), Dina Powell McCormick (President and Vice Chairman of Meta), Jensen Huang (CEO of NVidia), Brian Sikes (CEO of Cargill), Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla), Kelly Ortberg (CEO of Boeing), Jane Fraser (CEO of Citigroup), David Solomon (CEO of Goldman Sachs), Larry Culp (CEO of GE Aerospace), Cristiano Amon (CEO of Qualcomm).

Then Ryan McInerney (CEO of Visa), Sanjay Mehrotra (CEO of Micron Technology), Michael Miebach (CEO of Mastercard), Larry Fink (CEO and co-founder of BlackRock), Stephen Schwarzman (CEO and co-founder of Blackstone), Jim Anderson (CEO of Coherent), Jacob Thaysen (CEO of Illumina).

Meanwhile, at the dinner, a number of leaders of major Chinese companies, such as Air China, Douyin, China International Capital Corporation, Haier Group, ICBC, Lenovo Group, Fuyao Glass Industry, Lens Technology, COFCO Group, Bank of China, Xiaomi Technology, COMAC, Wanda Group, COSCO Shipping, China Tourism Group, and Hisense Group were also present.
