TANJUNG SELOR - The discovery of a resident who died in front of Cafe B.Space, Jalan Jambu, Tanjung Selor Hilir Village, Tanjung Selor District, Bulungan Regency, Thursday (14/5/2026), had made a fuss among the residents.

The victim, who was found in a lifeless state, was known as Irul Sabana (44), a resident of Jalan Semangka, Tanjung Selor. He was found on the sofa in front of the cafe, around 12.50 Wita.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Bulungan Police, AKP Haji Rio Adi Pratama said that after receiving a report from the community, the police immediately came to the location.

"As soon as we received the report, the members immediately headed to the crime scene to check and process the crime scene," said Rio, Friday (15/5/2025).

Rio revealed that from the results of the initial examination, the police did not find signs of violence on the victim's body.

"No signs of violence were found. Based on family information, the victim also has a history of heart disease," he said.

Rio explained, based on the witness's statement, the victim was previously inside Cafe B.Space with a number of colleagues since Thursday morning at around 01.00 Wita.

"The victim came with his friends and had time to drink alcohol in the cafe," explained Rio.

"The victim then fell asleep until the cafe was about to close at around 03.40 Wita, the victim was moved by the employee to the sofa in front of the cafe," he continued.

Several hours later, the victim was found still lying down and was found to have died.

"The next victim was taken to the hospital for a visa," he said.

Rio said the family accepted the incident as a disaster and asked that no autopsy be performed.

"The family has accepted this incident and refused to be autopsied. The victim's body was then buried the same day at the Public Cemetery (TPU) Jalan Cendrawasih, Tanjung Selor," he concluded.

This incident adds to a series of bad records for the entertainment venue that is allegedly immune from the law, previously the entertainment venue on jambu street was closed and sealed until it was given a police line by Polresta Bulungan in 2023.
