JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa held a meeting with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources office on Wednesday, May 13.

The meeting discussed strengthening policy cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, especially in increasing Non-Tax State Revenues (PNBP) from the oil, gas, and mining sectors.

In addition, both parties also discussed accelerating the self-sufficiency program for electric energy and the development of village electricity to support the equalization of energy access in various regions.

"We discussed his plan to strengthen the PNBP from the oil and gas sector. The plan is quite good I think," Purbaya told the media, Wednesday, May 13.

Purbaya also touched on the strategic project of developing a gas pipeline network connecting Sumatra and Java.

He assessed that the project would become an important national gas distribution line, especially when the Andaman gas field in Aceh began operating.

"There is a gas pipanization project from Sumatra to Java that may be connected. If Andaman is completed, it can be transferred directly to Sumatra-Java. That was a good project," he said.

Purbaya emphasized that the Ministry of Finance is ready to support various strategic steps of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, especially programs that can strengthen the foundation of the national economy and improve people's welfare.

"Basically, I will support every effort by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources," he said.

He also assessed that the synergy between ministries needed to continue to be strengthened so that fiscal policies and energy sector policies could run in parallel to support national development.

Meanwhile, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia expressed optimism about the collaboration that has been established between the two ministries in supporting the development agenda, especially in the energy sector and state revenue.

"We discussed with the Minister of Finance a synchronization program, including how to increase PNBP, but also how to realize the village energy and electricity self-sufficiency program," he said.

Furthermore, Bahlil emphasized that the management of state revenue potential in the ESDM sector needs to be carried out in an integrated manner so that the benefits can be felt to the maximum by the community and support national development.

"One thing, I am with the Minister of Finance Purbaya is a good team in order to develop the rearrangement of good state revenue potential in the ESDM sector," he added.
