President Prabowo Says There is Still Rp39 Trillion in Criminal Proceeds in Inactive Accounts
Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto said there was around Rp39 trillion in inactive accounts that were said to be related to the proceeds of crime that had not been taken by their owners for years.
This was conveyed by President Prabowo at the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 13. In his speech, President Prabowo even made a sarcastic comment about the account owner who was allegedly dead or fled abroad.
According to President Prabowo, funds that have not been managed and claimed for years after being announced many times should be taken by the state for the benefit of the people. President Prabowo said the government estimated that next month there would be an additional Rp. 49 trillion that would enter the country, a combination of the PKH Task Force and the inactive account fund.
President Prabowo asked that the money be returned for public interest, including the repair of schools and health centers.
