BINUS Engineering Week 2026 Promotes AI-Based Engineering Solutions and Sustainability

BINUS University has reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging innovation and cross-sector collaboration through the implementation of the BINUS Engineering Week 2026 at BINUS @Kemanggisan.

Carrying the theme "Sustainable Engineering in Creating Global Impact and Competitiveness", this activity is a strategic platform for academics, researchers, engineers, industry, government, and society to jointly discuss the role of engineering in answering today's global challenges.

This activity also represents the contribution of the Faculty of Engineering of BINUS University which consists of various flagship and best programs, namely Architecture, Civil Engineering, Food Technology, Bio Technology, Computer Engineering, and Industrial Engineering in creating innovations that are relevant to the needs of industry and the global future.

In the midst of accelerating technological developments and increasingly dynamic global changes, issues such as sustainability transition, artificial intelligence, Industry 5.0, green economy, to global competition are now a reality that must be faced together. In his remarks, Dr. Nelly, S.Kom. M.M. - Rector of BINUS University conveyed that engineering has an increasingly relevant role as a driver of transformation, a catalyst for innovation, as well as a foundation for sustainable development that is capable of providing cross-generational impact.

"Engineering is not only about building systems, but also about building a sustainable future," said the Rector of BINUS University in the opening of the BINUS Engineering Week 2026, Wednesday, May 13.

During the 45 years of BINUS University's journey, BINUS continues to be committed to becoming a world-class university that is not only academically superior, but also actively nurturing and empowering the community through research, innovation, and technology development that has a real impact. This commitment is realized through the development of graduates who are agile, innovative, collaborative, and globally competitive to meet the needs of the industry and the global challenges of the future.

BINUS Engineering Week 2026 not only presents a forum for discussion and collaboration between stakeholders, but also showcases various innovative works of students from the Faculty of Engineering BINUS University which are designed as real solutions to various industrial and community challenges.

The various innovations exhibited come from various disciplines such as Architecture, Civil Engineering, Food Technology, Bio Technology, Computer Engineering, and Industrial Engineering which reflect how the next generation of engineers is able to present technology that is human-centered, sustainable, and relevant to the needs of today's world, ranging from green technology-based solutions, industrial efficiency, to the development of intelligent systems that support digital transformation.

This activity also received direct support from various strategic industry partners, including PT Alamtri Minerals Indonesia, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Propan Raya ICC, and PT Kapal Api Group, as well as various other companies and industries. The presence of industrial partners is a tangible manifestation of the importance of synergy between the education and industry worlds in encouraging the downstreaming of research, development of innovation, and implementation of technology that can have a real impact on the wider community.

Through this forum, BINUS University hopes to present a collaborative space that brings together innovative ideas with real implementation, as well as opening opportunities for strategic cooperation across sectors. BINUS Engineering Week 2026 is expected not only to be an academic forum, but also to be the starting point for the birth of various engineering innovations and solutions that can make a real contribution to Indonesia and the global world.

On this occasion, the Rector of BINUS University also invited all researchers and engineers to continue to present solutions that are oriented towards sustainability, inclusive innovation, and human-centered technology. According to him, the success of an innovation is not only measured by the number of publications produced, but by how much the solution is able to improve human life and provide a real impact for the community.

With the spirit of collaboration and continuous innovation, BINUS Engineering Week 2026 is expected to be an inspiration for the future generation of engineers from the Faculty of Engineering of BINUS University to continue to work, innovate, and bring Indonesia to become an innovation-driven nation and increasingly taken into account at the global level.
