Three Indonesian Best Athletes to Participate in the 2026 Sanda World Cup

JAKARTA - Three of Indonesia's best athletes will take part in the 11th Sanda World Cup 2026 which takes place in Macau as part of preparations for the 2026 Asian Games which will take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The 11th Sanda World Cup 2026 tournament will take place on May 11-16, 2026. The participation of the three athletes is proof that the wushu training program from the Indonesian Wushu General Manager (PB WI) is running smoothly.

The Secretary General (Sekjen) of the PB WI, Ngatino, said that it was not easy at all to become a participant in the World Cup because it was determined directly by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) based on achievements.

"There are three Indonesian sanda athletes who have qualified. This makes us proud because they are part of the results of the PB WI coaching program," he said in a statement received.

The three athletes are Nasya Aulia Zahra Wahana (48 kilograms women), Tharisa Dea Florentina (52 kilograms women), and Fereddy Sinaga (52 kilograms men). They are accompanied by coaches Victor and Laksamana Pandu Pratama.

The appearance in the tournament is an advantage for Indonesia because Tharisa Dea Florentina and Fereddy Sinaga have been included in the Indonesian national wushu team that will appear in the 2026 Asian Games.

"So, they can not only see the strength of the opponent, but also become a material for evaluation for the PB WI so that they can be prepared better when they appear in Japan later," said Ngatino.

Tharisa is the winner of the gold medal at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games and the bronze medal at the 2025 Brazilian Wushu World Championships. Meanwhile, Fereddy Sinaga is the winner of the bronze medal at the 2025 Brazilian Wushu World Championships.
