Bank Indonesia Partners with GoPay to Increase Digital Financial Literacy in Ambon

JAKARTA - The Bank Indonesia Maluku Province Representative Office collaborated with GoPay to present a talk show "Smart Digital Transactions: Building Consumer Protection Awareness for Teachers and Students" at Pattimura Park, Ambon.

This activity is a joint effort to strengthen financial literacy and digital transaction security in the educational environment, especially for teachers and students who are active in using digital financial services every day. Increasing financial literacy and digital security is very important as digital transactions increase so that the community is protected from various modes of fraud.

Together with M. Yoga Pranata from the Payment System and Consumer Protection Surveillance Department of Bank Indonesia, GoPay provided education to 150 teachers and students regarding various digital fraud methods that often occur, such as fake links (phishing), fraud through fake customer service, fake transfer proof, to refund or transfer. mode.

Participants are also equipped with practical steps to safely transact, namely not sharing PIN and OTP with anyone, maintaining personal data, using official applications, and avoiding suspicious links. In addition, participants are also invited to understand the steps that need to be taken if there are indications of fraud, such as not panicking, saving transaction evidence, immediately contacting official services.

Deputy Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for Maluku Province, Dicky Afrianto emphasized the importance of increasing security literacy in transactions at schools to build a culture of safe digital transactions from an early age.

"In the midst of the rapid digital payment system, strengthening digital literacy and consumer protection is very important, especially for the younger generation. Through this activity, we hope that teachers and students not only become smart digital service users, but also able to become drivers of a culture of safe transactions in the school environment and society," said Dicky, Tuesday, May 12.
