Temanggung Builds Sasana Budaya Building Worth IDR 10.8 Billion, Laying The First Stone To Collect Water In Seven Directions

JAKARTA - The Temanggung Regency Government, Central Java, built the Sasana Budaya Building worth Rp. 10.8 billion as a place for artists to express and appreciate in preserving and developing art. Acting Head of the Temanggung Regency Culture and Tourism Office, Kristi Widodo in Temanggung, Monday, said this construction is the first phase of construction with a budget of Rp. 5.7 billion of the overall development plan in accordance with the planning of Rp. 10.8 billion. The construction period of the building is 180 days. He conveyed that accompanying the laying of the first stone for the construction of this building, a cultural procession in the form of collecting water and stones from seven directions representing the Mount Sindoro, Sumbing and Prahu areas had also been carried out. .

Water from Mount Sumbing is taken from Tuk Budoyo, Makukuhan, and Pikatan Springs, then from Mount Sindoro at Jumprit Springs, Mranggen Kidul, Makukuhan Kedu, and from Mount Prahu at Dukuh Wuluh Springs. Furthermore, as the cornerstone that was placed in laying the first stone, a stone was taken from the Liyangan Site area in Purbosari Village, Ngadirejo District. Temanggung Regent M. Al Khadziq said that Temanggung is one of the regencies in Central Java that has Javanese cultural characters with various types of art. Art for Temanggung Regency is one of the valuable assets, which if its existence is protected, developed, and utilized optimally and professionally, it will become one of the cultural tourism attractions which will essentially improve the welfare of the community. He said that Temanggung Regency has experienced very encouraging developments in terms of art. culture. It is evident from the number of art groups that continue to grow in the community. Based on data taken from the Temanggung Regency Culture and Tourism Office in 2021, there are 1,791 art associations that are still actively practicing and continue to try to preserve and develop the existence of arts in Temanggung Regency. "We hope that with the Sasana Budaya Building, it can be a place to increase art appreciation, a place for education that is entertainment, a place to bring together the thoughts of artists, and a place to accommodate the artistic creations of artists in Temanggung Regency," he said.
