Strengthen the Agriculture Sector, Brantas Abipraya Develop Irrigation Rehabilitation in West Lampung
JAKARTA - PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) strengthens the national agricultural sector through the implementation of the Regional Authority Irrigation (D.I) Main Network Rehabilitation Project in Lampung Province Package 2 which is located in Suoh District, West Lampung Regency.
This project includes D.I Way Haru Sekunyir Intake 1, D.I Way Haru Sekunyir Intake 2, and D.I Way Samang with a total treatment length of 14,100 meters and irrigation services covering an area of 1,126.8 hectares.
Through this rehabilitation, Brantas Abipraya seeks to optimize the function of the irrigation network which has decreased due to damage to channels and water structures, so that water distribution to agricultural land can run more effectively and evenly.
Corporate Secretary Dian Sovana said this project is a tangible manifestation of the company's commitment to supporting the development of the agricultural sector through the provision of reliable irrigation infrastructure.
"Brantas Abipraya continues to be committed to providing quality water resources infrastructure and providing direct benefits to the community. Through the rehabilitation of the irrigation network in Lampung Province, we hope that the distribution of water to agricultural areas can be more optimal so that the productivity of people's agriculture will increase," said Dian Sovana in an official statement, Tuesday, May 12.
Dian said that the existence of a good irrigation network has an important role in maintaining the sustainability of the agricultural sector, especially in the midst of the challenges of climate change and increasing national food needs.
"Irrigation infrastructure is not only about physical development, but also about how the infrastructure is able to support the sustainability of people's economies. When water distribution goes well, then agricultural activities will be more productive, the growing season will be maintained, and agricultural yields can increase," he said.
In its implementation, this project also prioritizes the implementation of the Construction Safety Management System (SMKK), which covers all stages of work ranging from preparation, channel work, pairs, to rehabilitation of buildings for, sadap, and for-sadap. This is done to ensure that the work is safe, of the right quality, and in accordance with the standards set.
Furthermore, Brantas Abipraya emphasized that this project is also in line with the government's agenda in strengthening national food security.
"The construction of this irrigation network rehabilitation supports President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita, especially in strengthening national food security. Reliable irrigation infrastructure is an important foundation in maintaining agricultural productivity and food availability," explained Dian Sovana.
PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) is optimistic that this project will have a long-term impact on improving the agricultural sector in West Lampung, as well as encouraging the local community's economic growth.
"As a state-owned construction company that has experience in the construction of dams, irrigation networks, and various other water resources infrastructure, Brantas Abipraya will continue to strengthen its contribution in supporting national development through projects that provide added value for society, environment, and the Indonesian economy," he concluded.
