During the Iran War, Israel Helped UAE Send Troops and Iron Dome Batteries
JAKARTA - The United States (US) Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Mike Waltz, said Israel during the war against Iran helped the defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by sending troops and Iron Dome missile defense batteries.
Waltz first made the announcement on Monday local time, reported by Israeli newspaper Hayom.
"We see the UAE taking advantage of the Iron Dome given to it by Israel," Waltz said, quoted by Al Jazeera, Tuesday, May 12.
The US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, confirmed Waltz's statement regarding Israel's assistance received by the UAE in an event today.
"I want to express my appreciation to the United Arab Emirates, the first member of the Abraham Accords," Huckabee said at a press conference in Tel Aviv, Tuesday, May 12.
"Just look at the benefits. Israel has just sent an Iron Dome battery and personnel to help operate it," he continued.
This statement underlines the close cooperation between the defense sectors that has developed between Israel and the UAE during the 40-day US-Israeli joint war against Iran, which killed the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on March 1, 2026.
Huckabee then alluded to the Abraham Accords, a US-mediated deal that began in 2020 on normalizing diplomatic relations between Israel and a number of Arab countries.
Amid Israel's aggression in Lebanon and Gaza, as well as its occupation of the West Bank, Huckabee said he was "very optimistic" that other Arab countries in the Middle East would join the Abraham Accords, looking at the UAE's beginning of relations with Israel.
