Police Name Ponpes Nanny in Jepara as Suspect in Santriwati Sexual Abuse
Jepara - The Jepara Police (Polres), Central Java, have named the Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) nanny in Mantingan Village, Tahunan District, with the initials IAJ (60) as a suspect in the case of sexual violence against female students.
"The determination of the IAJ suspect since Monday (11/5), as well as the detention because it has met the elements," said the Head of the Jepara Police, AKBP Hadi Kristanto, accompanied by the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP M. Faizal Wildan U.R, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 12.
The report of the case of sexual violence was received on February 19, 2026. Meanwhile, the alleged sexual violence incident occurred on April 27, 2025.
The modus operandi of the perpetrator is ijab qobulsepihak by asking the victim to read Arabic-language papers and reading bismillah, syahadat, and the prophet's salawat. Then the victim was given Rp. 100 thousand as dowry.
This, he said, was to convince the victim with the initials MAR (19) that he had been married by the perpetrator.
By making the victim as if she were his legal wife, continued the Police Chief, the suspect was free to order the victim to serve as a husband and wife many times.
The location of sexual harassment and intercourse against the victim, namely in the production warehouse of mineral water brand AHQ Ponpes Al Anwar in Mantingan Village, Tahunan District, Jepara Regency.
Meanwhile, the case of sexual violence was revealed when the victim went home on vacation. At that time, the victim received a WhatsApp message from the perpetrator whose tone was inappropriate for the victim's mother to know, so he asked the victim about the previous incident.
The victim's mother did not accept the suspect's treatment of her child, so she reported it to the Jepara Police.
The report was immediately followed up by examining witnesses, including family members and experts.
"In total, there are seven witnesses that we have examined related to the case," he said.
The evidence seized was three mobile phones, a set of the victim's clothes, a sheet of aliyah diploma in the victim's name and a 4 gigabyte disk.
For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 6 letter C of the RI Law Number 12/2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes and Article 418 paragraph (2) letter B of the Criminal Code Law Number 1/2023 with a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.
