Vice President Gibran Checks the Progress of MRT Phase 2A, Ensuring it Operates in 2027

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka reviewed the progress of the construction of the Harmoni-Sawah Besar Phase 2A Integrated Rapid Transit (MRT) station, Jakarta, to ensure that MRT operations run according to the deadline at the end of 2027 for the Bundaran HI-Monas route.

When reviewing the MRT tunnel, Vice President Gibran wearing a light green APD vest and helmet, was accompanied by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, and President Director of PT MRT Jakarta Tuhiyat.

"This is a collaboration project between the central and regional governments. In general, the progress of the construction has reached 59 percent. At the end of 2027, HI-Monas will be connected and operational," said Vice President Gibran as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 12.

Gibran explained that the progress of the MRT construction for the Monas-Kota route currently has reached 59 percent consisting of three packages, namely Thamrin-Monas Station, Harmoni-Mangga Besar and Glodok Kota.

Then, the operational target of Monas-Kota is planned for the end of 2029, so that the MRT is connected from Lebak Bulus to Kota.

"Then at the end of 2029 it will continue to Kota Station. So this is an extraordinary progress," said Gibran.

Gibran explained that the Lebak Bulus-Bundaran HI Phase 1 MRT has served 47 million passengers per year.

As a cooperation project between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the Ministry of Transportation, the Vice President appreciated the MRT operation as an effort by the government to realize safe, comfortable and integrated public transportation.

"This modern public transportation is one of the priorities of the President," said Gibran.
