BGN Prepares Sanctions for SPPG that Fails to Achieve 3B Target

JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) requires all nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPG) to increase the number of beneficiaries in the pregnant mother, breastfeeding mother, and toddler or 3B categories in the next two weeks.

Deputy Head of BGN for Public Communication and Investigation, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, emphasized that this step was part of the acceleration of the government program to improve community nutrition and reduce the national stunting rate through the free nutritious meal (MBG) program.

"Now until the next two weeks, all SPPGs must have 3B beneficiaries. Currently, our achievement is only around 9 million, while data from the Ministry of Health reaches 22 million to 26 million," he said, Monday, May 11.

According to Nanik, the achievement of beneficiaries which is still far from the target makes BGN need to re-focus the program so that nutritional fulfillment services are more directed to priority groups that need quick intervention.

Regarding this, all SPPGs are asked to actively carry out data collection and optimization of services in their respective work areas so that the coverage of beneficiaries in the 3B category can increase in a short time.

BGN considers this step important to accelerate the equalization of nutrition services for the community, especially vulnerable groups who are at risk of experiencing nutritional problems and stunting. Nanik also emphasized that SPPG that has not been able to meet the target of 3B beneficiaries will be subject to temporary suspension or suspension.

This policy is implemented so that all program implementers remain focused on the main objective of the free nutritious meal program, namely improving the quality of community nutrition and reducing the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia. "If the 3B beneficiaries in SPPG are still few, then SPPG will be suspended," he said.
