Police Arrested Car Burner For Tapteng DPRD Member, 1 Person Still At Large
MEDAN - A car belonging to Madayansyah Tambunan, a member of the DPRD of Central Tapanuli Regency (Tapteng), North Sumatra, was burned. One perpetrator was arrested.
The perpetrator who was arrested had the initials H. Meanwhile, one of the perpetrators involved in burning the car of a member of the Tapteng DPRD is still being sought.
The Head of Public Relations of the Tapteng Polres, AKP H Gurning, said the perpetrator was arrested after the police conducted a crime scene investigation (TKP) and examined 13 witnesses.
"From the statements of the witnesses, it is known that the perpetrators were 2 people who came on a motorbike. Then we investigated and immediately secured H," said Gurning in his statement, Tuesday, June 8.
The perpetrator with the initials H was arrested while crossing Jalan Padang Sidempuan-Sibolga on Sunday, May 30, at 21.00 WIB. The police are currently looking for another suspect.
Regarding the motive for the arson, Gurning still has not detailed it in detail. The perpetrators, continued Gurning, are still being investigated intensively to determine their motives and roles.
"While we are still pursuing his partner. The evidence that we have secured is 1 unit of the victim's CR-V car, which is heavily damaged," he said.
Previously, Gurning said, the car of members of the Tapteng DPRD was burned when it was parked at the victim's house in Sibabangun Village, Sibabangun District, Central Tapanuli Regency. The victim was asleep at the time of the incident.
"Then the victim heard the screams of residents from outside, then the victim left the house and found his car was on fire. Then the victim and residents immediately tried to extinguish the fire with makeshift tools," said Gurning.
