KPK Leaders Don't Heed Calls Regarding TWK, Komnas HAM: We Still Give Opportunities
JAKARTA - Commissioner for Monitoring and Investigation of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Choirul Anam said the summons to the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was carried out to obtain clarification, information, information, and various things to clear up the polemic of the National Insight Test (TWK).
"However, KPK friends, our colleagues cannot attend today," Anam said at a press conference broadcast on Komnas HAM YouTube, Tuesday, June 8.
Even so, he said that his party would continue the investigation process into the complaints submitted by 75 KPK employees. The complaint is related to the TWK process which is considered to have violated human rights.
So, in the future, Anam hopes that the KPK leadership can be present to provide additional information needed by Komnas HAM.
"We are still continuing the process, hopefully these parties will be present to explain how the incident happened so that, in light of the incident, the public's expectations are getting better," he said.
"So, if the KPK leadership hasn't arrived today, we will still provide the opportunity, the right to provide us with additional information and information," Anam added.
As previously reported, the KPK stated that its leadership would not attend the summons of Komnas HAM and only sent a letter asking for an explanation of what human rights were violated in the process of transferring the status of its employees.
"Monday, June 7, 2021, the KPK leadership has sent a letter to Komnas HAM asking for an explanation of what human rights were violated in the implementation of the transfer of the status of KPK employees," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters.
Furthermore, Ali emphasized that the transfer of employment status carried out by the KPK was a law mandate. The implementation of the TWK which is a requirement is also in accordance with the mechanisms and applicable laws and regulations.
"The implementation of TWK is carried out by BKN in collaboration with other relevant institutions through a process that is in accordance with the mechanism as stipulated in the applicable laws and regulations," he said.
For information, the National Insight Test was attended by 1,351 KPK employees. Of these, 1,274 people were declared eligible.
Meanwhile, 75 employees, including Novel Baswedan, Chairman of the KPK Employee Forum who is also investigator Yudi Purnomo, Director of Socialization and Anti-Corruption Campaign Giri Suprapdiono, Head of the KPK Task Force Harun Al-Rasyid, and Director of PJKAKI Sujarnarko were declared ineligible (TMS). While the other two employees did not attend the interview test.
According to the employees who were declared unsuccessful, there were a number of anomalies in the implementation of this assessment. Including, there are a number of questions that are considered to violate the private sphere.
These employees who did not pass, then reported the implementation of the TWK to Komnas HAM. Subsequently, a special team was formed, led by two commissioners, namely Choirul Anam and Sandrayati Moniaga to investigate the alleged human rights violations in this test.
In addition to submitting reports to Komnas HAM, these employees also report their leadership to a number of parties, from the KPK Supervisory Board to the Indonesian Ombudsman.
