Reveal the International Judol Case, the Police Seized Rp1.9 Billion in Money 

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri) seized money worth Rp1.9 billion from the disclosure of an international online gambling crime case in the Hayam Wuruk office area, Jakarta.

Director of General Crime of the National Police, Brigadier General of Police Wira Satya Triputra, said that in addition to the rupiah currency, the police also seized foreign currencies worth 53.82 million Vietnamese dong and 10,210 US dollars in the disclosure of the case.

"This is a variety of currencies. Later the details may be further conveyed, but that's for sure," said Wira at a press conference in Jakarta, Saturday.

In the future, the National Police will trace the flow of funds in the case and delve into the server (server) or internet protocol address (IP) on the online gambling site communication network.

As for the disclosure of the case, 321 foreign nationals (WNA) have been arrested, of which 275 have been named as suspects.

Wira explained that the foreigners had been running an online gambling business at the location for about two months.

However, based on the results of the examination, the building in the Hayam Wuruk district office which is the place of disclosure of the case is purely only an online gambling operational place.

"For their residence, they are located around this tower," he said.

Meanwhile, he said that most of the foreign nationals who were arrested already knew the purpose of being brought to Indonesia to work for an online gambling company.

However, so far, Wira said that the foreign nationals who were arrested were the perpetrators, not the brains.

Therefore, the National Police is committed to developing the case until it finds the top officials of the judol business to the sponsors who brought them to Indonesia.

"We will also coordinate with related stakeholders, in this case with PPATK, then with the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections. This is for further development later," added Wira.
