Police Investigate the Lukas Enembe Stadium Riot
JAKARTA - The Jayapura Police carried out an investigation into the scene of the riot at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura Regency, Papua.
"The overall investigation was carried out by the investigation team to record the damage and investigate the riot incident that occurred at the Lukas Enembe Stadium after the play-off match between Persipura Jayapura and Adhiyaksa FC," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Jayapura Police, AKP Alamsyah Ali, in Sentani, Saturday, May 9, reported by ANTARA.
According to Alamsyah, currently the situation in Jayapura Regency after the riots is conducive and community activities are running safely and smoothly.
The off-promotional match of the 2025/2026 Championship between Persipura Jayapura vs Adhyaksa FC was marred by crowd disturbances.
The match, which took place at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Friday (8/5) was won by the Adhiyaksa FC team with a score of 1-0 over the host team Persipura Jayapura.
The winning goal was scored by Adilson Silva in the added time of the first half. With this result, Ade Suhendra's students were promoted to the Super League.
After the match was over, there was a riot that resulted in dozens of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles being burned and facilities inside the stadium being damaged.
The police were forced to fire tear gas to disperse the crowd who started to set vehicles on fire and destroy facilities at the Lukas Enembe Stadium.
