Riots at Lukas Enembe Stadium, a total of 64 vehicles were burned, 11 people were injured.

JAYAPURA - Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Cahyo Sukarnito, said the police were still investigating the cause of the riots that occurred at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Kampung Harapan, Jayapura Regency.

The team from the Papua Regional Police Inafis and the Jayapura Police Criminal Investigation Unit is currently still compiling the damage caused by the riots after Persipura club lost to Adyaksa FC which took place on Friday (8/5) evening.

"To ensure the cause of the riots, so far, is still being investigated, but the initial cause is suspected to be due to disappointment after the people's pride team in Tanah Papua Persipura lost 0-1 to Adyaksa FC," said Kombes Cahyo as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 9.

A total of 64 two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles were burned, vandalized and reported missing.

In addition, the impact of Persipura's defeat also caused 11 people to be reported injured including 10 members of the National Police who were carrying out security at that time.

"One member of the National Police, namely Ipda Arjuna, who was on duty at the Jayapura Police, is currently still being treated at Bhayangkara Hospital due to the injuries he suffered," said Kombes Cahyo.
