Prabowo prepares a fishing village in Miangas, there is a cold storage to a solar gas station

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto promises the development of modern fishing villages on Miangas Island, North Sulawesi. The program is being prepared to strengthen the economy of fishermen in the Indonesian-Filipino border area.

Prabowo said construction would begin next month and be completed in five months.

"Later there will be ice makers, cold storage, to SPBU solar for fishermen," said Prabowo in Miangas, Saturday, May 9.

In addition to inaugurating the 15 gross ton fishing boat assistance for residents, Prabowo also asked the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono to accelerate the construction of fishing support facilities.

According to Prabowo, the government will start this year to improve the condition of fishermen on a large scale in various areas.

"This December, we will inaugurate 1,386 fishing villages throughout Indonesia," he said.

He assessed that Miangas has great opportunities because it already has an airport so that the residents' seafood can be marketed more widely and increase people's income.

Prabowo also emphasized the importance of border area development so that people on the outermost islands do not feel left behind compared to other regions in Indonesia.
