President Prabowo will immediately repair all Puskesmas in Indonesia
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto reiterated his commitment to improve all health centers in Indonesia during a working visit to Miangas, Talaud Islands, North Sulawesi.
Monitored through the Presidential Secretariat's live broadcast in Jakarta, Saturday, President Prabowo stated that he had directly reviewed the condition of health service facilities on the outermost island. He revealed that a number of health centers were known to have never been renovated for decades.
"I just saw several puskesmas, the Minister of Health whispered to me, so many years since the time of Pak Harto (President Soeharto), the puskesmas has never been repaired. We will repair all the puskesmas in Indonesia, immediately," said President Prabowo as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 9.
President Prabowo said that improving health facilities was a government priority so that people in all regions, including border and remote areas, could receive decent health services.
According to him, the visit to Miangas provides a real picture of the need for the development of health infrastructure in the region.
"Finally, I am grateful, I can see the condition of everything and hopefully we will soon improve," said President Prabowo.
The President's visit to Miangas is also an opportunity to emphasize the equalization of national development, especially the improvement of basic health services through the revitalization of health centers throughout Indonesia.
In addition, the President will revitalize schools and provide supporting facilities such as digital learning panels, telecommunications devices, and free internet for schools.
The government will also soon build a Red and White Fishing Village / Village, including Miangas. This development also facilitates the procurement of fishing boats, as well as cold storage.
