Cristiano Ronaldo Scores 100th SPL Goal as Al Nassr Win vs Al Shabab
Joao Felix scored a hat-trick and Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th goal in the Saudi Pro League (Saudi Pro League/SPL) as Al Nassr beat Al Shabab 4-2 on Friday, May 8, 2026 WIB, to extend their lead at the top of the league standings to five points over rivals Al Hilal.
Felix put Al Nassr ahead with two goals in 10 minutes with two quick goals, but Yannick Carrasco scored in the first half to narrow the score to 2-1 at halftime.
Ronaldo then took advantage of Sadio Mane's cross at the near post with 15 minutes left to give Al Nassr a 3-1 lead.
The goal was his 971st in his career. It was also his 26th league goal this season. He has scored 127 goals in all competitions for Al Nassr.
"Ronaldo is always dangerous when he attacks and we saw it again today," said Al Nassr coach Jorge Jesus.
However, Ali Al-Bulayhi's goal for Al Shabab made the end of the game tense until Felix scored his third goal from the penalty spot to secure a 4-2 victory.
This result puts Al Nassr collecting 82 points from 32 matches, five points above Al Hilal who are in second place and still have one match to play.
The two teams will meet on May 12, 2026 in a match that could ultimately determine whether Ronaldo is able to win his first trophy since joining Al Nassr in January 2023.
Al Nassr and Ronaldo can also win the trophy on May 16, 2026 in the Asian Champions League Two (AFC Champions League Two) final against Gamba Osaka.
"Now we have a derby against our rivals, which is a difficult game. We are fully aware of the importance of this game."
"We face it with full focus because we know that small details can determine the result," Jesus said.
