In Haaland's Sensational Deal with Manchester City, There's a Shocking Fact
JAKARTA - Erling Haaland's agent, Rafaela Pimenta, said that Manchester City is the most difficult club to negotiate with.
In an interview with ESPN, Pimenta said that the eight-time English League champion was very serious and very organized.
Pimenta further that The Citizens are so big, know what they are doing, have a lot of experience, don't really need anything, and have everything. So, according to him, players have no bargaining power.
His client, Haaland, signed a new contract for nine and a half years at the Etihad earlier last year. ESPN reported that it was one of the most lucrative deals in the history of the sport.
"He's very much like us (football agents). In his mannerisms - very informal, very comfortable, very relaxed, very humble. Football, for him, is the most serious game you can play."
"I think people often assume that the work of a football player is easier than it is in reality. I often say that high-achieving football players have to be very smart."
"So, don't underestimate the intelligence of those at the top of the pyramid. He must be very dedicated," said Pimenta.
Haaland has scored 109 Premier League goals in four seasons at the club - with his new contract removing a buy-out clause.
He shows his dedication to fitness and lifestyle in videos on his personal YouTube channel, which has been viewed more than nine million times.
In March 2026, Pimenta denied claims that the Norwegian had been in contact with Barcelona.
"Everything is going very well for him and we really don't need to discuss transfers when everything is so good at Manchester City," he said at the time.
Meanwhile, Pimenta - who also represents Liverpool boss Arne Slot - remained diplomatic when asked if the 2026 World Cup would affect the summer transfer window.
"See, it's hard for me to say that without causing gossip. I'm speaking based on my own thoughts without having any information."
"I think Liverpool will do a lot of movement. Ajax, we already know that they do a lot of movement, everyone knows that. It's an important club, although of course not a big club like Real Madrid and Barcelona," he said.
