The case of the spraying of hard water by the KontraS activist was handed over to the Polda Metro Jaya

JAKARTA - The Directorate of General Crime (Dittipidum) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has submitted a report on the alleged water spraying against the Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), Andrie Yunus, to the Polda Metro Jaya.

Director of General Crime of the National Police, Wira Satya Triputra, said the transfer was made because the location, time of the incident, and the object of the case were the same as the case previously handled by the Metro Jaya Police.

"Yes, because the locus and tempus are the same, and the object of the case is also the same," said Wira in Jakarta, Friday, May 8, 2026.

According to him, if the case is handled again by the Criminal Investigation Unit, the investigation process must start from the beginning so that it is considered less efficient. Moreover, the Metro Jaya Police have previously collected evidence and examined a number of witnesses.

However, Wira ensured that the Criminal Investigation Unit would continue to provide assistance for the development of the case.

"Of course we will continue to assist from the beginning of the case," he said.

Previously, the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD) reported the case of water spraying against Andrie Yunus to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police through a type B police report. This step was taken after the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya said that a number of evidence and clues in the case had been handed over to the TNI Military Police.

KontraS coordinator, Dimas Bagus Arya, said the report was made to ensure that the legal process continued.

"TAUD will register a type B report because it follows up on the statement from the Dirkrimum of the Metro Jaya Police who has provided evidence and a number of clues to the TNI POM regarding the case of pouring hard water on Andrie," said Dimas.

The report is recorded with the number LP/B/136/IV/2026/SPK/BARESKRIM POLRI. In the report, the reporter also included allegations of attempted premeditated murder, premeditated severe persecution, use of dangerous materials, to allegations of terrorism and terrorism financing as stipulated in Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
