Secretary of State Rubio: New US Attack on Iran Not Part of Epic Fury
JAKARTA - US Secretary of State (Menlu) Marco Rubio said the latest US military attack on Iran was not part of Operation Epic Fury, but a defensive action.
"That is different and separate from Operation Epic Fury," Marco Rubio told reporters when explaining the US military's response to the threat of its war-torn country.
Rubio said the United States must respond if a drone or missile is directed at its military destroyer.
"We have to take down the missile. We have to disable whatever launched the missile. The alternative is to let the missile sink one of our ships," he said.
On Thursday night (7/5), the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that they had attacked Iranian military facilities because of an alleged attempt to attack US warships in the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, the Iranian military command also claimed that the United States had violated the ceasefire by attacking several areas in the country.
