Angry at being cheated by his family, a restaurant worker stabbed an ABK at the Muara Baru Modern Fish Market.
ABK with the initials FS was attacked with a machete by an attacker with the initials AD alias D (26) at the Modern Fish Market in Pelabuhan Muara Baru, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta.
Fortunately, the victim managed to fend off the attacker's attack using a chair at the scene.
The perpetrator is known to be a worker at one of the restaurants in the Pluit area. The victim then reported the incident to the Muara Baru Police.
The Tanjung Priok Port Police Chief, AKBP Aris Wibowo, said that after receiving the victim's report, the Muara Baru Police Criminal Investigation Unit then carried out a pursuit of the perpetrator.
"The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Muara Baru Police Station managed to arrest the perpetrator. Evidence seized was a wooden-handled machete with a length of about 37 cm," said AKBP Aris, Friday, May 8, 2026.
The perpetrator AD admitted that he was determined to attack FS because of his emotions when he found out that his family had been cheated by the victim.
"They had a verbal altercation before AD tried to hurt FS. Currently, AD has been detained at the Muara Baru Police," he said.
Confirmed separately, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Muara Baru Police, Ipda Fauzi Widi, explained that the victim FS was not injured because when attacked, he managed to repel it.
"The victim was able to avoid the attacker's attack so that he was not injured," he added.
In addition to arresting the suspect, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Muara Baru Police also seized evidence of sharp weapons belonging to the perpetrator. Meanwhile, 2 other friends of the perpetrator managed to escape.
"The perpetrator is threatened with Article 307 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 7 years in prison," he said. (Rizky Sulistio)
