Bungareyza Introduces MINGSE as a New Persona through Hipdut Song

JAKARTA - Until now known for the pop folk genre, Bungareyza has been exploring with an alter-ego named Mingse. At the same time he presents a single titled Astaga Bercanda.

This song carries the genre of hipdut, in which he collaborated with a musician from Bengkulu, Akbar Chalay. The decision to carry this rising genre is not without reason.

"My son is very happy to try new things. By the way, dangdut music has been "flowing" from Mama to me. When offered to try the hipdut genre, I was immediately interested," said Mingse.

Astaga Bercanda also involves Giant Prayash Trinanda, Nabil Adesya Putra, Aji Suherri, and Happy Andromeda in terms of music and lyrics. This song tells the story of two people who like each other, but are hindered by circumstances because one of them already has a partner.

"This song is about two people who both like it, but the other one already has a partner. So, rather than bothering, he prefers to wait. The term is rather than being the second, he better wait to be the first," he explained.

Bunga admitted that he wanted to explore music that was different from the genre he had been doing. The name Mingse was also chosen, which was taken from his viral chatter on social media.

"The reason for changing the name from what people have known for a long time is certainly as a differentiator. As a bungareyza, I like serious pop folk music. But, on the one hand, I want to try a new experience in the hipdut world. After discussing with the Sony Music team, we finally came to a decision, namely to continue to live both, but with different names. This can be said to maintain the boundaries between Mingse who focuses on hipdut with bungareyza who leans towards pop folk," explained Bunga.

So the first experience, Mingse was quite enthusiastic about bringing hipdut. The work on his new single is relatively fast and makes it easier for him to perform it.

"Even though it looks different from the genre I have been doing, honestly, singing this hipdut genre single feels easier. Maybe, because my soul is already a singer, so there is no difficulty," he explained.

Mingse also offers a different overall feel, from the style of music, appearance, to the attitude when performing the song. Not only that, he also ensures that his two identities in music will continue to go hand in hand.

"There is no word 'back' because I never left my character as a bungareyza Mingse and Bunga will continue with their respective projects in the future."
