Pramono Soal Gerakan Pilah Sampah Jakarta: Tak Boleh Setengah-setengah
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung claims that the waste sorting movement in Jakarta will be carried out seriously after the official inauguration on May 10. According to Pramono, the governor's instructions (Ingub) regarding waste sorting have been signed and currently the socialization process is carried out to the regional level.
"Now Ingubnya has been signed by me and has been socialized. All the mayors, including the Regent of Thousand Islands, are also involved in socialization in their respective regions," said Pramono in East Jakarta, Friday, May 8.
The DKI Provincial Government targets that the waste sorting movement will be carried out widely to the RT and RW neighborhoods. This program is one of the new focuses of the local government to reduce household waste problems that have burdened the waste processing and disposal sites in Jakarta.
Pramono revealed that before being applied massively, the waste sorting system had actually been tested at the Rorotan Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant, Cilincing, North Jakarta, for about the last three months.
"So tomorrow, the 10th, is the launch of the movement. And I don't want this movement to be half-hearted," he said.
Pramono revealed that the implementation of the Governor's Instruction regarding waste sorting was also carried out by building waste processing facilities into energy in the area. In the near future, the DKI Provincial Government together with Danantara will build a waste-to-energy power plant (PLTSa)
"I have agreed to build it immediately for PLTSa, a waste-to-energy power plant," he said.
Pramono mentioned the large amount of waste in Jakarta that had been piling up for a long time. He said that the waste reserve in Bantargebang reached 55 million tons and needed to be immediately addressed.
According to him, the development of waste processing facilities into energy is one solution to reduce methane emissions while reducing the burden on landfills.
Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government targets the construction of three PLTSa facilities in Jakarta. Meanwhile, the RDF facility in Rorotan is asked to continue to increase its capacity while still paying attention to the environmental impact for residents around it.
"I ask that it be gradually improved but that the infrastructure be improved so that it does not have an impact on the smell and breathing of residents," he added.
